Changes to “View Perpetual Keys” functionality in Horizon Universal Console (14805)

  • If your Horizon Cloud Service Subscription includes VMware foundational products (such as vSphere, vSAN, vCenter, Workstation, ThinApp Client, ThinApp Virtual packager and App Volumes Enterprise), Horizon Universal Console was used to obtain those license keys.
  • This knowledge base article is intended to explain Horizon Cloud Service subscription customers with changes they shall experience in obtaining such foundational products license keys.

Important Information Regarding Horizon Licensing and vSphere Infrastructure Licensing for Horizon (6000014)

  • The End User Computing Division’s transition from Broadcom to Omnissa operational systems is complete, and we are in the process of normalizing
    operations on those new systems.
  • We expect operations to be fully normalized in coming weeks. During this transition period, customers should be aware of updated processes for obtaining licensing keys, including temporary keys, should they experience any impact to the operation of their Horizon licenses. The purpose of this KB is to outline the updated Horizon licensing processes, potential impacts and steps to take if you are impacted.
  •  These updates affect Horizon 8, Horizon Cloud, and the Horizon Control Plane platforms.
  • For Horizon customers, if you have additional questions not answered here regarding vSphere licensing, please email horizon-license-help.pdl@broadcom.com  for assistance.NOTE: For general Licensing queries and assistance please open a SR in the customer connect portal, selecting the problem category, Licensing, in order to direct your case to the licensing team in the fastest manner.

Best Practices for Deploying Android Tunnel for Zero Touch Configuration (6000010)

  • Customers make use of the Workspace ONE Tunnel solution for a number of use-cases spanning remote workers, access to internal applications and resources, as well as mobile SSO. Whether utilizing Tunnel for frontline workers using check-in / check-out or for users with persistent devices, there are a few recommendations for how to deploy Tunnel for Zero Touch setup.
  • This article applies to the Android Tunnel configuration for the MDM workflow. This article does not apply to the Standalone enrollment workflow.

Domains to Allow for In-Flight WiFi with Workspace ONE MTD Phishing & Content Protection (6000012)

  • We have seen that some domains required by airlines to connect to in-flight WiFi are only resolved internally, making DNS resolution impossible when Workspace ONE Mobile Threat Defense Phishing and Content Protection (PCP) is activated on the device. We recommend adding these domains to the PCP Skip List in the MTD console so that MTD can bypass them instead.

Delay in loading PDF files in chrome browser (15513)

  • PDF files experience a long delay loading within the Chrome browser.  This can also affect Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) applications, such as Epic Hyperdrive Client

Integration between Workspace ONE UEM and Access for v2210 and earlier will fail due to Access API Login Endpoint being deprecated (6000011)

  • The Workspace ONE Access login API endpoint which was erstwhile used to enable the Access-UEM integration has been deprecated. An alternate authentication method will now be in place where UEM will redirect to a different endpoint to perform the full authentication as configured for the tenant. Existing integrations will not be affected. However customers on v2210 or lower will not be able to integrate Access and UEM due to this deprecation.

VMware Horizon Guidelines for Nested Mode in Horizon 8 (80509)

  • VMware supports running the Horizon Client inside a Horizon VM. This flow, commonly called “nested mode,” involves two hops. However, not all combinations or features are validated by VMware. This document is intended to clarify what has been verified. This KB has been updated for Horizon 8.

WS1 Email Management – Update to WS1 PowerShell module to support Exchange Online Management v3 (6000009)

  • Microsoft has announced deprecation of Remote Powershell (RPS) protocol for Exchange Online. It is recommended to upgrade to the new EXOv3 module. More details on this change can be found on the Microsoft website.
  • At the time of KB publication, Microsoft has announced the final RPS disablement for customers in other Microsoft cloud environments as well as WW cloud is scheduled for October 2023. There will be no extension given to customers post September 2023 and RPS will be disabled for all tenants starting October 1st.
This information is subject to change. Please visit the Microsoft website for up to date information.
  • Starting Workspace ONE UEM 23.02.0.10, UEM PowerShell Email integration will use the new EXOv3 module for all PowerShell workflows.
  • New environment upgrades to UEM 2302.02.0.10 or later will include this change by default.
For all UEM environment prior to UEM 23.02, a patch fix will be rolled out to SaaS environments and made available to on-premise customers.
